Veritek are pleased to be supporting the ‘Three Peaks Challenge’ during the weekend of 13th -15th August 2010.
The event has been organised to raise funds for The Healing Foundation, a small national charity dedicated to supporting research into treatments for a wide range of disfigurement and appearance concerns; from pioneering research into the potential of scar-less healing and tissue ‘regeneration’, to developing new treatments for people affected psychologically by an altered or unusual appearance.
Following an appeal to staff members, a team of four intrepid Veritek employees have volunteered to take up the challenge, and now face the mountainous task of completing the ascent and descent of Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in the Lake District and Mount Snowdon in Wales…all between 5a.m. on the Saturday and Midday on the Sunday.
Anyone wishing to pledge support for the Healing Foundation by sponsoring Veritek’s team should do so at: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/KPMGthreepeakschallenge
Veritek wish their team every success in this enormous challenge.
Veritek Spain recently finalised an agreement to secure 200 new minilab customers, resulting from the takeover of service from Tetenal Spain (Minorisa Color). The agreement, which came into effect on April 1st 2010, includes the provision of service to a number of Media Markt stores, Europe’s largest electronics retail chain. Veritek Spain has increased its engineering force to facilitate this exciting new business.
The group recently celebrated the first anniversary of the opening of its machine refurbishment facility in Portugal, located 25km north of Porto at Santo Tirso. Veritek Portugal has had a successful first year providing minilab, kiosk and dye sublimation printer refurbishment for all Veritek operations in mainland Europe and the UK.
The strength and quality of the Veritek Portugal operation is demonstrated by a recently signed 24 month contract to provide full refurbishment of over 200 minilabs for an existing Veritek customer.
We are pleased to announce that from Monday 15th February Veritek will be responsible for the equipment service and support needs of the Boots Opticians business. This is excellent news for the company, complementing our existing arrangements with Birmingham Optical Group and further supporting our strategy to build a strong ophthalmic division within Veritek.
Veritek continues to support good causes. For the BBC's Children in Need charity, we supported a team of Boots head office colleagues who in late October undertook a 27 mile overnight sponsored walk along St Cuthbert's way in Northumberland.
On Children in Need day itself, Veritek employees were encouraged to ‘Wear Something Spotty’ for a £1 donation. Head office staff were also invited to bake and sell ‘spotty cakes and cookies’ and guess the number of sweets in a jar. The day proved a great success, raising both additional funds and awareness of the invaluable work done by Children in Need.
Veritek and Noritsu are delighted to announce that with effect from 7 December 2009 Veritek has agreed to manage and deliver Technical Services to the Noritsu customer base in the UK. Noritsu has restructured its UK business to improve focus on the Technical Services function, including installation, warranty service provision and ongoing service contracts. Noritsu has invested in Veritek and has transferred its UK service business of 12 employees to Veritek as part of this restructuring.

This is the first step of a Europe-wide association between Noritsu and Veritek designed to improve the customer experience of Technical Service delivery. Further territories will be added to these arrangements in the New Year.

The sales function of Noritsu will continue to operate in the UK as a separately managed entity under the Noritsu European umbrella.

Jim Edgar, Managing Director of Veritek commented, "We are very excited about this opportunity and are committed to maintaining the high level of service provision to Noritsu’s customers. My team are determined that this service provision will be seamless and we are all looking forward to a successful partnership with Noritsu."

Noritsu’s investment in enhanced service provision complements our leadership position in developing and manufacturing the best photofinishing equipment on the market today."
As Christmas is the season of goodwill, Veritek are taking the opportunity to help others less fortunate than ourselves.
Following a similar initiative in 2008, the company are not sending Christmas cards to customers and suppliers, choosing instead to buy ‘must have gifts’ from World Vision. World Vision works in partnership with more than 100 million people in nearly 100 countries in their struggle against poverty, hunger and injustice.
The gifts selected by World Vision are precious because they are genuinely needed. They are the charity gift of hope, dignity, health and in some cases life itself. They make a real difference to some of the most vulnerable children, families and communities around the world.
Veritek has purchased; 100 Mosquito Nets, 50 Blankets, 50 School Books and 20 Footballs.

Veritek Benelux BV recently secured a top three place in the prestigious annual competition run by the Dutch Society for Service (NVSM) ‘Service Case of the Year’.
Judged on a number of criteria relating to the quality of service companies provide, the competition drew entrants from service organisations/departments representing a large number of eminent companies including; Ricoh, Siemens and Tetterode.
Country Manager of Veritek Benelux BV, Cees Wieting, based the company’s entry on ‘the whole of Veritek Benelux from 2007 to 2009; the growth, creativity, improvements and the flexibility to look wider than the normal remit of service provision’.
Cees thanked all Benelux employees for their effort in achieving this result and Veritek for the way in which the entire company is managed.
